I know this is much too late...

Hello everybody!

Well I know it has been almost a month since I last updated you all,
so first thing first: I am still alive.

Well last you heard I was in Lübeck visiting Maude, and well honestly
right now I am in Lübeck visiting Maude. No, I have not been
imprisioned, nor have I gotten a job, I am just entertained in
traveling in very large circles around countries.

After I last left you I headed to Hamburg, where I saw the city, due
to the incredibly nice weather I spent a good bit of my time outside
in the extremely nice weather. I did see my share of museums, but in
Hamburg I would have to say my favorite part is the parks and gardens.

From Hamburg I made my way to Berlin, truely an amazing city,
absolutely massive! My first business there was to get my Kazakhstan
visa in order, which surprisingly enough was quite easy besides the
very long public transport ride out into the middle of nowhere Berlin.
I spent a total of 6 days in the German capital and could have easily
spent a couple more. On my last day in Berlin I got went to retrieve
my Passport from the Kazakhstan embassy, and was greatly relieved to
find out I did get my visa, the entire week I had been worrying due to
the fact that they ask some rather specific questions, and being
myself I only replied with rather vague answers.

From Berlin I made the extremely long and expensive (thank you Eurail)
trip down to Munich, the Bravarian capital. many people say that
Bravaria is the equivalent Quebec, or Catalonia in their respective
contries. Munich was great, being on the bugdet I'm on I found pleanty
of free and very cheap things to do to keep me very well entertained
while I was there.

From Munich I made my way into Austria to Salzburg. Yes, this is where
Mozart was born or lived or something, and yes this is where "The
Sound of Music" was filmed. But no, I did not indulge an those much
more tourisic pleasures, I entertained myself by walking up hills and
taking pictures of bugs and other cool things.

After that I headed to Weimar where I met up with Maude. Weimar was
neat, some famous German writer was born there, which I'm sure there
are some of you angry with the fact I can't remember his name. But my
favorite part about the small city, was that I was able to get away
from some of the faster and louder life of so many cities that I've
been to.

Maude and I arrived in Dresden on the 26th of May, the preceding
Thursday is actually a rather celebrated holiday in Europe and we
found ourselves camping in my large one person tent, or my small two
person tent. Unlike my other camping experiences of my trip we did not
get cold, but due to the persistant rain we, and our packs got very
wet. Other then that small downside Dresden was beautiful, and
fufilled everything that I really thought about it after reading
"Slaughter House Five."

Due to the fact that our packs and everything inside them were really
rather wet, I forfieted my idea to head to Prage, saving it for
another time, in a couple weeks. Instead I headed back to Lübeck with
Maude in the attempt to dry everything out. Right now I have speant
more time in Lübeck then any other place, I'm just glad it is a very
nice city.

I leave for Poland tomorrow to visit my friend Agata who I met in
Paris so many months ago, I'm a different person now, and it is hard
for me to think about how different I actually am. After a few days in
Poland Maude will meet me in Warsaw and we will make our way around
the country before we head to Prague and then back into Berlin to
catch our flight to Alamty, Kazakhstan.

I apologize for the pause between my updates, and I still think back
to the days in Ireland when I sent a large update every three days or
so. And I also apologize for the lack of detail that I go into, but
what the heck, this just means you'll all have to hunt me down when I
get back home to hear the storie first hand.

I'm glad I know you all, and I really appriciate getting e-mails from
all of you.
